Happy Holidays, everyone!
It is a special season for me because I made my first Christmas record this year! I've always wanted to, as this is one of my favorite times of year. It seems everyone truly slows down long enough to smell the roses. Even the biggest Grinches out there can't help but give Santa a little wink & a smile.
Thanks to everyone involved for sharing their talents with me. My brother, Chance Scoggins, played a key role alongside me, producing; as did Doug Beiden. Chris Brush produced "Silent Night" featuring my duo, Paige & Palermo. Fabulous singers & friends lended their amazing voices for the choir on "O Come Emmanuel" and "We Wish You A Merry Christmas". So much fun!
I decided to create my own arrangements of Classic songs, and I wrote a couple of new songs, too. Track 1 & Track 6 are the originals. Here's a preview of "Holiday". You can find physical copies in the Store.
I imagine families putting up their trees and drinking hot chocolate, unwrapping presents, as we did as youngins, while listening to Kenny & Dolly's, "A Christmas to Remember". That is a sweet thought that warms my heart. Still to this day, Christmas is not Christmas without hearing the bells in "I'll Be Home With Bells On". I hope my music will become part of your Christmas memories. May it bring you lots of joy!
I also had the pleasure of being the star of the new Overstock.com Holiday campaign. If you haven't seen it on TV yet, you can check it out here. Making it was great fun! Director, Matt Hodgson's vivid imagination came to life as a couch was magically transformed into a sleigh ride. Please enjoy! (Here's the Thanksgiving version, as well.)
As I write, it is December 22nd. I'm at my home in Nashville, TN. Just finished wrapping my last presents for my 2 nieces, Jalen & Emmy. My heart is full from a year filled with major ups & downs. I find myself so thankful for good health, the ability to make music my job after all these years, for good friends who've been around for what seems like many moons, and happy memories of a family full of support and love. I'm not saying everything's always perfect. But, it IS all mine. And, for that, I am grateful. :)
Cheers to you & yours. Merry Christmas and Happy Everything!
Love,
xjen
